Agentic commerce means the user handing a task over to software: you say “find a product with these features at the best price”, and the software browses sites, compares them and brings you the result. In some cases, it completes the purchase step too.
This isn't widespread in every industry yet, but the direction is clear and you can start preparing today.
What does this visitor look at?
A human visitor is influenced by design, photos and the overall impression. Software isn't. What it looks at is the CLEAR INFORMATION on the page: the name of the product or service, its scope, price, delivery time and return terms.
If this information is embedded in an image, given only by phone, or replaced with “call for details”, your page can't enter that comparison at all.
What you can do today
- Write your service and product information as text; don't embed it in images.
- Even if you can't give a price, write what the price depends on.
- State delivery times and return and cancellation terms clearly.
- Mark up your product and business details with structured data.
- Make sure your pages stay crawlable.
A level-headed view
Tomorrow, not all your customers will turn into software. But none of the items on this list are work done only for software: the same order is what human visitors are looking for too. So the preparation isn't a wasted investment.
