The dashed line is where Google stops. The struck-through part isn't shown in the result — but Google still reads it.
The measurement adds up the character widths of the Arial typeface; kerning (letter pairs being set closer together) isn't taken into account. We compared it with the browser's own measurement: across 40 samples with Latin and Turkish letters, the median deviation was 0.03% and the largest 2.2% — and the deviation is always towards “slightly wider”, so the tool warns you about truncation early, not late. For characters outside our table, such as emoji, Cyrillic or Chinese, the estimate becomes rougher and may lean towards the narrow side; for a title like that, check the result in Google as well. The container widths (600 px desktop, 358 px mobile) are based on Google's current layout; Google may change these sizes without notice.
