SEO & GEO service

Findability in search engines and AI tools

Every package comes with a technical SEO foundation. This service builds on top of it: it crawls your site, finds the questions people search for in your industry, reorganises your pages and content around them, and reports what was done once a month. We don't promise rankings — we show the work done.

  • Technical foundation in every package

Titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, fast pages and SSL come with your site; this service builds on top of them.
  • Scope written in the quote

The work is written down item by item; anything outside the scope is priced separately.
  • A plain report once a month

What was done, what changed and what is planned for next month; not a pile of screenshots.
  • Wherever your site is hosted

It doesn't have to be hosted with us. If we need access to anything, we tell you upfront.

What's included

What the service covers

The items below are the service itself; which of them fall within scope is settled in the quote, based on the state of your current site and your goal.

  • Technical Crawl

Your current site is crawled; crawlability, speed and heading-structure issues are identified and turned into a prioritised fix list.

  • Keyword and Question Research

The words and questions people actually search for in your industry are listed, and we decide which page answers which question.

  • Page Title and Description Structure

Each page's title, description, heading hierarchy and internal links are reviewed page by page.

  • Content Plan and Blog Calendar

Which topic gets written when is put on a calendar; on packages with the blog module, posts are published from there.

  • Search Console and Analytics Setup

Google Search Console and Google Analytics are connected, or access to your existing account is set up; the monthly report is based on this data.

  • Structured Data

Your business name, address, services and frequently asked questions are marked up in a form that search engines and AI tools can read.

  • Content Structure for AI Tools

Service pages and FAQs are written in a clear question-and-answer format that AI tools can cite as a source; your business details are kept consistent on every page.

  • Monthly Report and Guidance

What was done and what changed is explained once a month in a plain report. If you'd like to produce the content yourself, we show you how to write it.

Process

How we work, in four steps

The process is never a black box: what is done at each step is clear, and the scope is written in the quote.

  1. Introduction and current state

We talk about what you expect and your budget, and your current site is crawled. If it isn't a fit, we'd rather tell you "you don't need it".

  2. Scope and plan

The questions people search for in your industry are identified, we decide which page answers what, and the work is written down item by item.

  3. Implementation

The fix list is applied, pages are reviewed, and the planned content is written — or we guide you in writing it.

  4. Tracking and reporting

What was done and what changed in the measurements is explained once a month in a plain report; next month's plan is updated accordingly.

Guide

What is SEO & GEO, and how does it affect your site's findability?

You've put your website live; next, it needs to be found. Your customers no longer just type into a search engine; they also ask an AI tool, and that tool can cite sources when it answers. SEO & GEO deals with exactly these two doors: search engines reading your site correctly, and AI tools being able to cite you when they answer. Below, we define the two concepts, explain the difference between the technical foundation, content and measurement, and describe how the foundation that comes with every package differs from content work offered as a separate service.

What is SEO?

SEO (search engine optimisation) is the combined technical and content work that lets search engines crawl a website, correctly understand what each page is about, and consider that page for relevant searches. A search engine doesn't read your page the way a person does; it reads its structure: the page title, description, heading hierarchy, canonical URL, loading speed and mobile-friendliness are assessed. If this structure isn't in place, even well-written text is read incompletely. Once the structure is in place, content comes next: the page needs to genuinely answer a question and describe the service in plain language. The search engine decides by its own criteria which result appears where; our job is to prepare the ground so that decision is made with the right information.

What is GEO, and how is it different from SEO?

GEO (optimisation for AI search) is the work of organising content and structure so that AI-powered search tools understand a site correctly and can cite it as a source when answering a question. SEO and GEO both try to make the same site easier to read; the difference is who is reading. A search engine offers a list of links; an AI tool answers the question in its own words and shows the sources it relies on. To become a source, a page needs to ask the question clearly and answer it plainly, keep the business name, address and service details consistent on every page, and mark them up with structured data. Those tools decide which source to show; we get your site ready for that assessment. That is why SEO & GEO are done together: a well-structured page serves both readers.

Why should the technical foundation, content and measurement be handled separately?

Because they are three different jobs, and none of them replaces the others. If you buy a service without seeing this distinction, it's hard to tell what each item delivers.

  • Technical foundation: page title, description, canonical URL, fast-loading pages, mobile-friendliness, SSL and heading hierarchy. It comes with the site setup and doesn't change for a long time.
  • Content: identifying the questions people search for in your industry, deciding which page answers which question, writing the pages to that plan, and adding new content regularly. It takes ongoing effort and is shaped by your industry.
  • Measurement: reading the data provided by the search engine and visitor analytics, and reporting at regular intervals what was done and what changed. Without measurement, the results of the work stay invisible.

When you ask for a quote, asking which of these three items are included makes it clear what you're paying for.

What is the difference between the technical foundation in every package and the SEO & GEO service?

The technical foundation is part of the site; the SEO & GEO service is separate work that builds on that foundation, with its scope written in the quote. The foundation comes with your site; the service requires research, writing and follow-up specific to your industry. The content work offered as a separate service covers:

  • Crawling your current site and a prioritised fix list.
  • Keyword and question research; deciding which page answers which question.
  • Page-by-page title, description and internal link structure; a content plan and blog calendar.
  • Marking up business details with structured data, a question-and-answer format for AI tools, and regular reporting.

Which items fall within scope becomes clear from the state of your current site; on a site that already has the foundation, we start straight with content.

How does SEO & GEO work with Octofly?

If we built your site, the technical foundation is already in place: page titles, descriptions and canonical URLs are generated automatically in every package; pages load fast because they are pre-generated; mobile-friendliness, SSL and hosting are included; texts, services, the gallery, FAQs and the blog are managed from the panel. We offer SEO & GEO as an optional add-on service. Design, hosting, technical work and SEO come together with a single point of contact; you never hear "that's not our department". We don't promise rankings or traffic; we show the work done. Get in touch; let's define the scope together and send you a clear quote.

Common questions

Questions about SEO & GEO

What does GEO mean?

Generative engine optimisation: content and structure work so that AI-powered search tools understand your site correctly and can cite it as a source when answering. For us, it means marking up your business details with structured data and writing service pages and FAQs in a clear question-and-answer format. Those tools decide which source to show; we make sure your site is readable and consistent.

How long until I see results?

We can't give a timeframe for that; search engines and AI tools process changes at their own pace. What we can give you is a work schedule: technical fixes and planning first, content production after. You'll see what was done and what changed in the measurements in the monthly report.

Who will write the content?

Either way works. We draw up the plan; we can take on the writing, or show you how to write it yourself. Which one it is goes in the quote; the process is never a black box to you.

Does this service require a particular package?

No. The technical groundwork is in every package; the service can be added on top of any package. If regular blog posts are planned, packages with the blog module (Performance and higher) make the work easier; we'll clarify this together in the introductory call.

My package already includes SEO. What's different about this service?

What comes with the packages is the technical groundwork: heading structure, sitemap, speed and crawlability. This service builds on top of that — it plans which page answers which question, reworks the content and tracks the results regularly.

Do you guarantee I'll reach the first page?

No. Third-party systems decide the ranking in search results and which source AI tools show; nobody can guarantee that. What we can guarantee is the work itself: we report what was fixed and what changed.

How often will I get a report?

Once a month. The report isn't a pile of technical screenshots; it says in plain language what was done, what changed and what is planned for the next month.

Why isn't the price listed on the page?

The scope of these services varies from business to business: the state of your current site, competition in your industry and your goals differ. Rather than announcing a fixed figure and later saying "that's out of scope", we work out the scope together and give you a clear quote.

My site isn't hosted with you; can I still use the service?

Yes. SEO & GEO and social media services can be run regardless of where your site is hosted. If the technical audit needs access to anything, we'll tell you upfront.

Is a long-term contract required?

No. Scope and duration are set out in the quote; if you don't want a commitment, we can work period by period. If you stop early, you are only charged for the work already done.

Let's define the scope together and send a clear quote

Let's talk about your current site and your goal, and write down the work item by item. If it isn't a fit, we'll tell you that too.
