Address, hours, product groups and delivery terms set out in a form search engines and AI tools can read; what was done is reported once a month.

Industry-specific

SEO solutions for Retail & Shops

The items we build the work on in this industry; each one is real work within the scope of the service.

  • Consistent shop information

Address, phone number, opening hours and payment options are kept in the same form on every page and marked up with structured data; if you have more than one branch, each is described on its own page.

  • Product group pages

The product groups you sell and the services you offer aren't squeezed onto one long page; each is described on a separate page, with a title, description and internal links that answer the question being searched.

  • Delivery and payment pages

Online orders, delivery areas, cash on delivery and exchange and return terms are written out clearly on their own pages; what customers would ask on the phone is already answered on the site.

  • Question-and-answer content structure

The questions people search for in your industry are listed; FAQs and blog posts are written in a clear question-and-answer format that AI tools can also cite as a source, put on a calendar and, on packages with the blog module, published from there.

  • Technical foundation and speed

Your current site is crawled; crawlability, page speed, heading hierarchy and the broken links left behind when campaign pages are removed are turned into a prioritised fix list.

  • Measurement and monthly report

Search Console and Analytics are connected, or access to your existing account is set up; which product group page appeared for which search is explained once a month in a plain report.

Definition

What is SEO for retail?

Retail SEO is the work done so that search engines and AI tools can correctly read where a shop is, what it sells and how it delivers. People looking for a shop may search by product group, by neighbourhood or by delivery terms; the site needs pages that answer each of these questions separately and clearly.

For shop websites, the starting point is consistency: the address, phone number, opening hours and payment options appear in the same form on every page and are marked up with structured data. Product groups and services (online orders, delivery, exchanges and returns) are described on their own pages, with headings that match search intent.

The GEO side is about making the same information readable for AI tools: frequently asked questions are written in a clear question-and-answer format, and information that changes often, such as campaigns and stock, is set up so it can be updated. Those tools decide which source is shown; we make sure the site is readable and consistent.

Regulatory note. Descriptions of campaigns, discounts and delivery follow consumer and advertising rules; price, duration and condition details are written on the page exactly as they are, and texts are prepared accordingly.

Sub-areas

Search intent differs in every sub-area

Even within the same industry, what people search for changes; page structure and content are built accordingly.

  • In-store salesSearches are shaped by proximity and time: in which neighbourhood, open until what time, is the item available in store. Branch pages and consistent address and opening hours details answer this intent.
  • Online orders and deliveryPeople ask about the terms along with the product: which areas are delivered to, until what time same-day delivery applies, is cash on delivery available. These terms are written out clearly on separate pages.
  • Exchanges and returnsAfter-sales searches are problem-focused: within what period, with which document, in store or by courier. Explaining the terms step by step on a single page matches search intent; the answer to the question asked on the phone is ready on the site.
  • Campaigns and discountsCampaign searches are seasonal and time-limited. Pages not leaving broken links when they end, clearly stated terms and duration, and the ability to remove outdated content are what matter in this area.
  • Wholesale and corporate supplySearch intent differs from individual shopping: people ask about minimum orders, invoicing, delivery times and the quote process. A separate page and quote form for this area are set up independently of the retail pages.
Common questions

Questions about SEO for Retail & Shops

I have only one shop; is this work still necessary?

We work that out together in the introductory call. A single shop has the same need for consistent, readable address, hours and product group information; the scope is kept narrower and written in the quote item by item. If your current site is already in that state, we'd rather tell you "you don't need it".

I have more than one branch; do I need a separate page for each?

Yes, each branch is described on its own page with its address, phone number and opening hours, and these details are marked up with structured data. Instead of duplicating the same text and just changing the branch name, each page carries information specific to that branch; the scope is written in the quote based on the number of branches.

What happens when campaign pages end?

The page for a finished campaign is either redirected to current content, or its links are tidied up when it is removed; no broken links are left behind. These leftovers are listed in the technical crawl. For recurring campaigns, using a permanent URL and changing its content is another option; which one suits you depends on how often you run campaigns.

I don't sell online, I only have a shop. Does SEO & GEO still apply?

Yes. Even without a shopping cart, product groups, shop information, exchange and return terms and frequently asked questions can be described on the pages; people can see what they'll find before they come to the shop. If you're thinking of moving to online sales, e-commerce consulting is a separate service; the two can also be planned together.

Stock and prices change often; who will update the site?

If your site is hosted with us, frequently changing information such as campaign text, opening hours and delivery terms is edited from the panel; you don't need to write to us for every change. If your site is hosted elsewhere, who updates which areas is discussed upfront and written in the quote. The monthly report also covers how the changed pages appear in search.

Let's define the scope together and send a clear quote

Let's talk about your current site and your goal, and write down the work item by item. If it isn't a fit, we'll tell you that too.
